REINS of Valor

Workshop

August 30th and 31st

We closed out August, once again getting the privilege to partner with REINS, holding a two day 'REINS of Valor' workshop for active duty Marines, veterans, and first responders.

REINS sits right outside the gates of Camp Pendleton in Fallbrook. We made our first trip out in April of 2023 after a lot of conversations and planning with the command staff of Marine Wing Support Squadron 372 (MWSS-372), and hosted 25 Marine EODs over the course of two days.

Fast forward four months, and this return trip was met with not only the senior leadership and the command team of MWSS-372, but participants from additional units based at Camp Pendleton and veterans from out in the community.

Walk The Bridge

July 16, 2023

We were honored to be invited to 'Walk the Bridge' and be given the opportunity to share our work for veterans, first responders, and their families. Founded October 22, 2018, by a core group of retired first responders and veterans, #walkthebridge is a commitment to walking the bridge every month (third Sunday) to raise awareness about the epidemic of First Responder and Veteran suicide. Walk the Bridge began in Rockwall/Rowlett, TX, and has since spread to locations across the country and internationally.

First Responders

Soccer Tournament

July 15, 2023

We spent a very hot, but GREAT, day at Winters Park in Garland for the annual First Responders Soccer Tournament. The event brought together teams comprised of local first responders all vying for a trophy, but more importantly, bragging rights for the next year! Booger and Patches, as always, brought lots of attention and awareness to the benefits of equine therapy for our first responders and their families.

15th Annual Summer

Reading Activities Fair

June 6, 2023

Booger, along with over 650 of his closest friends, spent the evening of June 6th at Riter C. Hulsey Public Library in Terrell helping kick off the summer at their 15th Annual Summer Reading Activities Fair. It wasn't hard to find him. All you had to do was look for the line of kids!

Therapeutic Horsemanship Program

April 2023

Earlier in the year, an idea was thrown out almost jokingly because it was a BIG ask. Lesson learned...never underestimate good hearted people with the same WHY and Command Staff that cares about their people. REINS Therapeutic Horsemanship Program in Fallbrook, CA opened their gates, their arms, and their hearts to make it happen, so we hopped a plane, and off we went.

Working hand in hand with REINS of Valor, over the course of two full days, we welcomed over 25 active duty Marines from Marine Wing Support Squadron (MWSS 372), stationed at Camp Pendleton, to learn from the ones who can teach us about life and ourselves like no one and nothing else can. The lessons learned were profound and many, and it was nothing short of incredible to witness.
